The Owner, PatHere's me, Pat, FlowerGardens owner-in-chief. People think living in two different states and starting a flower farm in one, selling in the other, is a crazy idea. They may be right. So far it's been hard work but really fun. Of course it's only the beginning of spring in our inaugural year. Check back in August for a debrief!
The Atlanta Talent, Joanna |
The Farm Manager, AmyAmy is from the Haywood County 'hood and is the on-site intelligence while I am away from the farm living and delivering in Atlanta, and is co-conspirator-in-chief of the operation. In addition to her hard work she provides a steadying spirit, sense of balance and her often-needed good judgement to the farm. She is a talented gardener, seed saver, recycler of all things, master cheese-cracker baker, sommelier, potter, wood turner, Zen master and I am sure has a multitude of as yet-to-be-discovered gifts that she will share in good time. The farm wouldn't be here without her.

The Craftsman, MattMatt, who most often lives in Atlanta or the woods, does the heavy lifting and anything and everything related to facility. So far for the farm effort he's: installed a floor in the cooler room, mixing 2,000 pounds of concrete a bucket at a time; cut a hole through a 12" stone wall to install the A/C for the cooler; trenched a 300' irrigation line through rocks and tree roots with a walk behind trencher; run electrical and plumbing to the lower field and throughout the greenhouse, and...well, that was just in one day (almost). And he never doesn't have a smile on his face. My friend-for-life and all around good guy. Indispensible. Let's clone him.
